What’s Murumuru Butter ?
Murumuru butter is not a newly discovered ingredient. It actually made its first appearance in the United States and Europe during the 1940s and 50s when it was used as a key ingredient in vegetable creams and soaps. Today, you can find murumuru butter in a variety of soaps, skin care (it doesn’t clog pores) and hair care products.
The butter is chock-full of beneficial fatty acids including oleic, myristic (approximately 27%, and lauric approximately 46%) acids. Myristic acid has high antioxidant properties while lauric is touted as a fatty acid that boasts an impressive antibacterial and anti-inflammatory action.
what is AVOCADO butter?
Avocado butter comes from the fruit of the sub tropical avocado tree, which most notably grows in Mexico, California and Chile. Avocado butter is made through a process called hydrogenation. It is through this hydrogenation process that the polyunsaturated fats are converted into a solid product as opposed to an oil. The butter has an average melting point of 37 degrees Celsius, which means it’s going to melt as soon as it comes in contact with your body. AKA, great for spreading and smearing over dry skin, scalp and hair.
